7D6N TAIPEI TRIP - DAY 5

DAY 5 of our Taipei Trip 15-21 June 2013.

Woke up early and happy today because im officially 26 today!
ITS my BIRTHDAY and we are going to LeoFoo Village Theme Park. YIPPEE!
Going to Theme parks always makes me happy and excited!

Had our breakfast at Yong He Dou Jiang (永和豆浆)to start our day!
Their Soya Bean drink is good! Smooth, tasty and not too sweet.

After our hearty breakfast, we went to take the MRT to Jingan (景安) Station.
Leofoo theme park is around 1 hour drive from Jingan MRT station.

Right after exiting Jingan MRT, there's a bus stop specifically for E-GO bus which will take us straight to Leofoo Theme Park and Xiao Ren Guo (both located side by side). We waited at the bus stop for the E-GO bus but after 10min, i went back in to the MRT to check and was told that the E-GO bus comes once every 30 min. Went back out to continue waiting and a lady came and approach us to offer us a ride. She operates a mini bus service to ferry people to and fro from Leofoo Village and Xiao Ren Guo. She quoted us 300NT per person, after a short discussion, me and Angry Smurf decides to take her mini bus since the E-Go bus is still nowhere to be seen.

When we boarded her minibus, she asked us to wait a while while she go back to the bus stop to see if there's anymore customers... while waiting, i was telling Angry Smurf that we shld go back to the bus station to see if the bus is here, because the bus ticket is definitely much cheaper than the 300NT per person charge for the minibus. Just when we were abt to alight, the lady returned with another 6-7 more passengers and she told us that as there are more people sharing the ride, it will only cost us 150NT per person.
We agreed and off we go to Xiao Ren Guo and Leofoo village!

Once we reach Leofoo Village, we purchased the park ticket from the minibus lady and even booked a return ride with her directly back to Ximending as there will be others joining the ride so it will cost us around 400NT for the return journey.

Leofoo Waterpark opening soon

Made our way into Leofoo Theme park.

Opening hours from 9am to 5-7pm (depending on season).

As we went on a Wednesday, there's not much people except school students out on excursions.
The park is quiet, no screams, no laughters, no music. Some shops are not even open.

The scary Aladdin ride which we skipped.

No queue at all for all the rides.

Everytime when there's a long queue to get on a ride, i feel so sian cos need to queue.
But yet when there's no queue at all, i rather there is one as it means there's a crowd so more people will be on the ride with us.

In between the rides, saw a DIY shop where we can make glitter sand keychains on our own.
Made one for Angry Smurf.

After DIY-ing a keychain, we continued on the queue-less rides.

After those boring queue-less rides, we went on a monkey trail ride where we padal to make the carriage move as we go through all the different monkeys habitat. Quite interesting, better than those queue-less rides.

Went to the White Tigers Habitat after our Monkey Trail.
The White Tigers looks a bit skinny leh.

OK, after seeing all the Skinny white tigers, time to see a FAT ONE.. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

Earlier when we arranged the pick up from the minibus driver, we asked to be picked up at 430pm, so we have little time left and as we already had our fun, we went on a tram ride into their tamed animal safari.
They actually have another Safari Car ride into another safari where we can get to see Lions, Tigers and other more ferocious animals.

This photo is not zoomed in, this cow is standing ride next to the tram, observing us as we observe him.

This is not a camel,
it is 草泥马。

草泥马

After our tram ride, we waited for the pickup outside Leofoo Entrance and off we go, back to Ximending.
Dabao a bowl of Ah Zhong Mian Xian before walking back to hotel.

After a bath and a short rest back in the hotel, we headed out in the evening to 龙山寺's area night markets.

There are a few night markets there, Huaxi St Night Market, Guangzhou St Night Market and Wuzhou St Night Market. All situated along GuangZhou Street.

In my opinion, only Guangzhou st is shop worthy as Wuzhou St night market are more for locals, they just sell food there. Huaxi St are for the adventurous, can eat snake meat there.

龙山寺 is pretty convenient as it is only one stop away from Ximen Station.

The area there is totally different from how it is in the afternoon. The old folks went home for their dinner and sleep already i guess.

The snake shops in Huaxi St Night Market. They actually sell snake meat meals and snake blood drinks there. Didn't manage to take much photos as no photography is allowed.

Playing a silly steel ball game.

The puppies are not a meal. Don't worry! they are selling them.

Buying his favourite fruit juice to quench his thirst.

After spending our night at Guangzhou Street night market, we went back to Ximending again. LOL.
i realised we spend most days roaming around in Ximending.

Angry Smurf bought me a Sunflower for my Birthday...
Even though my Birthday was spent in a Queue-less rides theme park and night market, but still i enjoyed myself with his company. <3

                 Happy Birthday to me.
