Not knowing where to go for such a short trip, was initially considering Genting Highlands, but due to the recent road accidents for tour buses, we decided to give Genting a miss.
We considered going on a cruise as well, but felt that paying so much for a cruise is not worth it at all.
In the end, we agreed on going to Sunway Lagoon once again as we had so much fun there last year when we went during Angry Smurf's birthday.
And so, we went to check out the prices at Five Star Travel.
Its around the same as last year when we went.
$900 for 2 pax, price inclusive of 2 nights stay at Sunway Resort and Spa + Bus ticket to and fro and theme park tickets. We booked it since the price is reasonable and the rooms are limited due to the short notice. We book 1 mth before our date of departure. As the room cant be confirmed on the spot, but we have to make payment first, i was worried about not being able to secure a room i want. I was right, Five Star called me 2 days later informing the Junior Suite Room i wanted was fully booked, all they had left was the Club Junior Suite, otherwise i can choose to book Sunway Pyramid Hotel, The Club junior suite will cost me $200+ extra per room per night, i decided that it will be too expensive so i ended up booking a room at Sunway Pyramid instead.
There are 2 hotels located at Sunway Lagoon; Sunway Resort & Spa and Sunway Pyramid.
Sunway Resort and Spa is a 5 star hotel with normal rooms and themed suites whereas Sunway Pyramid is a 4 star hotel (but judging from pictures, its not actually a 4 star in my opinion). Previously when i went, i stayed at Sunway Resort and Spa, and i felt that the hotel was superb, from the rooms to their breakfast, everything is great. So when i was left with no choice but to book a room at Sunway Pyramid, i was quite disappointed as i would rather pay more and stay in the 5 star Sunway Resort which is definitely more comfortable and spacious but an extra $200+ sgd per night will bring me to $1300++ for a 3 days 2 night trip. To expensive la..... I had no other options so i told myself that since i tried Sunway Resort before, i should give Sunway Pyramid a try too. Furthermore, Sunway Pyramid package will only cost me $560. LOL.
But just like my usual indecisive self, after a few hours, YES, just a few hours after confirming with Five Star travel on Sunway Pyramid, i decided that i really would much prefer staying at Sunway Resort again. Screw my stupid excuses to make myself feel better booking Sunway Pyramid earlier. haha. Since Five Star insist that Sunway Resort have no rooms left, i checked online on Trip Advisor on my own, and saw that rooms are still available. I contacted Sunway Resort's reservation myself, telling them i actually made a wrong booking and would like to amend my booking, and im willing to top up the difference so that i can secure a room in their junior themed suites. After many emails and phone calls, i finally confirmed a room with them, A Club Junior Suite in Sunway Resort and Spa, topping up only 330 Ringgit per night. Total cost will come up to around $900 SGD in total, so its still almost similar to the price Five Star charge. YAY!
Sometimes i love the way how i will go all way out to get things i want done my way. LOL.
After confirming my room, i started counting down to our anniversary getaway!

It consists of 5 parks - Amusement Park, Water Park, Extreme Park, Scream Park and Wildlife Park.
Opening hours daily from 10am to 6pm.
All the 5 parks in Sunway Lagoon are connected, so no need to go out and re-enter, its all linked, previously when i went, i stayed mostly in the water theme park and amusement park.
Amusement Park - makes up of 'dry' rides, they have a 360deg Pirate Ship, which i nv went on as it seems too scary for me. haha. As well as a Tomahawk which goes 360deg over and over again. There's a 428 metres long suspension bridge across the park too.
Water Park - here is where i spend the majority of my time at. The rides are all least scary and fun!
i just keep going on and on the same few water slides to get that small dose of adrenaline rush! LOL.
Every slides there are a MUST TRY! especially the Congo Challenge, where we dive down a 6 lane slide, i played it twice, and still its fun! They have a new VUVUZELA ride and a 5D water adventure show. VUVUZELA always have a long queue anytime of the day, but its worth queuing for as you will be sitted in a 6 seater round boat as you slide down a long long slide and getting flushed down in a 'toilet bowl' lookalike funnel at the end. The 5D watershow is the first one i went to, when i went in, i tot its just like a normal 4D show, where you get sprinkled with some water, wont get wet, ended up, i sat at the last in a row, the water splashed on me like though someone used a water hose to spray water at me, after the show, I WAS TOTALLY WET! haha. but fun la!
Wildlife Park - they have quite a number of furry animals there, Sheeps, Pigs, Parrots, Rabbits, etc etc. mostly tames small animals, don't expect to see lion/tigers there la of cos. its an open area, put tigers there how can? I spend only around 1 hour there last year cos see animals only, see liao den go liao. this time round when i went, i did not go into the Wildlife park, cos i assumed the animals will still be the same, probably grown a bit bigger only cos 1 year older liao. LOL
Scream Park - i nv actually make my way into any attractions of this park as like the name mention, its bound to make you scream. The area where the scream park is located are mostly rooms and more rooms where you can go in and be scare by the pontianaks/zombies.
Extreme Park - i was expecting more from the Extreme park, but it has only a few things there.
Archery, Paintball target shooting, ATV riding (additional charge), Go-Kart (additional charge), G force reverse Bungee, Bungee Jump and Flying fox, these are the only things i can remember them having... Only tried the Flying fox this time when i went, super shiok! Last year, i did not manage to summon enough courage to try it.haha. Went to play the paintball target shooting too, a bit bo liao cos shoot board only. Archery also quite boring.

Finally its the day of our getaway! we woke up early and cabbed to Golden mile to wait for our coach for departure. Departure at 8am so we have to be there to collect our tickets by 730am. From Golden Mile to Sunway Resort is a 5 hour ride, the coach will stop midway at YongPeng for us to get our breakfast and a toilet break.
Saw this cuddly little kitten at Yong Peng, she's all alone and her eyes are still closed... so cute but so poor thing, i guess she might have lost her way from her pack.
After 5 hours of comfortable coach ride (we upgraded to Superior coach so we get more leg space and there's only 6 person on the 20 seater coach!) , WE ARRIVED AT SUNWAY RESORT AND SPA!

Took a half an hour break in the room before heading out to the adjoining Pyramid Shopping Centre for some food and shopping. We can actually spend more than 1 day to walk the entire Pyramid Shopping Centre. Its 4 or 5 storey high, very big! there's an Ice Skating rink at the ground floor, and a Cinema, an Arcade, and many many shops for you to go shop in!

Went into the arcade to play some games since we have 1 whole day of shopping time. Going to the theme park only tomorrow.

Had our dinner at Esquire Kitchen located on the 3rd floor, we had dinner there last year, and the food is served faster den fast food chains. haha. nice but just like normal Tze Char la.

As the hotel representative i spoken to to book my room with them knew that i was there celebrating our 4th anniversary, we went back to the hotel room at night with a sweet surprise from them. Chocolates, Chocolate cake, and fruits. Miss Wong remembered my preference of chocolate as they gave us a cake last year too and i requested for chocolate flavored one. LOL. Free things i also wanna choose flavor.
Woke up the next day early so that we can enter the theme park once they open at 10am!

Sunway Resort Buffet Breakfast serves a wide spread of international food where i m always too spoilt for choice, dunno what to eat so i eat all! end up too full. BURP!
Supposed to go straight after breakfast, but its still early so go back hotel room to slack a little bit more while waiting for time.
Had a full day of fun in Sunway Lagoon, many whom never been to Sunway lagoon before will think that it is just like a normal theme park, nothing much to play there. BUT U NV TRY U NV KNOW! its that fun till i went there twice in 2 years! i will still go back there again because this place brings me lotsa laughter and happiness.
Did not take any pictures inside the Theme park as i took quite a handful last year, and this year i did not bring a bag in, so no photos .....

Like what i mentioned at the beginning, i was there at Sunway lagoon celebrating our 4th anniversary, so of cos, need to have a nice nice dinner to make this celebration a complete one, we chose to dine at this Ole-Ole Bali restaurant that serves Authentic Bali food. This restaurant has both indoor and alfresco dining, the ambience is romantic especially at night where they light candles at the alfresco area. Makes me feel like im back in Bali sans the monsters on the ceilings EVERYWHERE IN BALI!

After a short 3 days 2 night of fun, its time to head back to Singapore.
The coach was supposed to pick us up at hotel lobby at 230pm. waited til around 3pm before the coach finally appear. Boarded the coach and i was enraged! TV spoil nehmind (the trip here the coach tv also spoil, but at least is clean!), this coach is dirty, or its not but it just looks dirty, luggage storage area is spoilt, so i had to put all my bags in front of my seat, this time round back, the coach is full so i cant put my stuffs on empty seats. the whole journey back was so uncomfortable, i cant even sleep properly cos i cant put my legs comfortably at my seat.
AND ITS SUPPOSED TO BE A SUPERIOR COACH LO! LOOKS WORST DEN A NORMAL COACH SIA!
i actually emailed Five Star travel to complain abt this when im back in SG, complaining not because i like to complain abt anything and everything, but i just always feels that as long as something is not right, things had to be done to rectify it, and if nobody voice it, they won't know! and the reply i gotten from Five Star was EPIC, they said that this coach is a Superior Coach, but the quality of their coaches varies as its outsourced... ok lo. den next time i don book Five Star lo since there is no quality control in placed.
SO FRENS... if u intend to go Malaysia, wherever, DO NOT BOOK YOUR COACH WITH FIVE STAR TRAVEL!
Back to the topic, Sunway Lagoon is fun!
Can consider going there for a 3 days 2 night fun if any of you wants a short trip!
Or if you are at KL, can consider taking a cab there to spend a day!
